A newsletter about what shapes our decisions
Hi, I’m Adam. I write about how we learn and change our minds, how we deal with our limitations, and what we can understand through other people. I’m interested in how all of this shapes the choices we make at work and in everyday life.
In the newsletter, I bring research together with experiences from running a company and from my own life. Over 2,000 people subscribe to my newsletter. As a welcome gift, you’ll receive three books in PDF about work, technology and testing ideas.

What I write about in the newsletter
The easiest way to get to know this newsletter is through its topics. I have written about each of the ones below on the blog as well, so you can read the article before subscribing.
“When there’s nothing left to make you stop”
When treatment allowed me to do more, I had to learn to set my own limits. I write about what happens when a limitation that once forced us to rest is removed.
“Prompt processes rather than cognitive ones”
What changes in our thinking when asking AI becomes our first response to a problem.
“Everyone told her there was no problem”
An anonymous survey and direct conversations gave a manager I know two different pictures of her work. I look at why it can be difficult to tell someone what we really think.
“Why is it easier to add something than to take something away?”
Why we look for solutions by adding rules, meetings and steps, even when it might help to first consider what we could remove.
What you can expect
I write about noticing when we have mistaken an assumption for a fact, considering advice in the context of our own situation, and understanding another person’s response. I draw on research while examining what its findings can tell us and whether the conditions studied resemble the situations we encounter ourselves.
I write when I have something worth your attention. If you would like to share an experience of your own, you can reply to an email.

Three books to get you started
Your welcome email includes links to three of my books in PDF:
- “Leadership in the Age of AI”explores decisions, communication and responding to crises as technology changes.
- “Understanding Cybersecurity”examines digital threats and the security of people and organisations through data, reports and analysis.
- “Entrepreneur’s Handbook”is about testing ideas and building an initial version of a product before committing more time and money to it.
The books grew out of my work in technology. The newsletter covers a wider range of subjects, including learning, relationships and everyday limitations.
