Leadership is the topic I keep coming back to, probably because I’m still learning it myself. I’ve been running a company for over twenty years, I’ve been through crises, difficult conversations, decisions made under pressure, and ones I’d rather take back. And through all those years, I’ve become most convinced of one thing: people don’t follow a title on a business card, they follow someone they trust.
I write here about leadership that doesn’t rely on the illusion of control. About making better decisions, seeing the people around you, not losing your own judgment under the weight of expectations. Sometimes I draw on data and research, sometimes on my own experience of leading teams and building an organization. I also write about what living with severe hemophilia has taught me, because limitations can be a surprisingly good teacher of leadership.
If you’re looking for ready-made recipes for becoming “leader of the year,” you probably won’t find them here. But if you’re interested in honest thinking about what it actually means to lead others, you’re in the right place.
